We arrived in Zhenjiang on a Sunday in late April, 2014, looking for memorials to Dr. Hudson Taylor. From online sources, we were directed to this newly built church. This church seems to be related to, and may possibly replace, the old Gospel Church in Daxi Road which is located in the older historic part of the city.
Amazingly, we arrived on the first Sunday the new church was open for worship. We met some of the worshipers leaving the church building as we arrived. They gave us a tour, turned the lights back on so we could enjoy the beautiful interior, and showed us the beginning construction of a bell tower behind the church.
Inscriptions next to the main entrance are Bible quotations, as follows:

Matthew 22:37, You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart… soul… mind.
John 3:16, God so loved the world that He gave His only Son….
It was our understanding that the new tower will eventually be showcasing the life and ministry of Dr Hudson Taylor, and maybe other early missionaries.
