On the occasion of the official opening of the Chefoo School exhibit in the Yantai City Museum, overseas guests were invited and warmly hosted over a period of three days. While the opening ceremonies included participation by many local guests, other events were organized especially for foreign guests. These included dinners and local tours laid on by the City of Yantai, the Foreign Affairs Office, and the City Museum.
The days of celebration started the evening before the opening ceremonies with a formal dinner hosted by the City of Yantai. Mr. Yin Guowen of the Foreign Affairs Office was the MC. In attendance was Ms Zhang Bo, Deputy Mayor of Yantai as well as Mr Liu Jianfeng, Chair of the Board of the Yantai City Museum. This was a lavish dinner with multiple dishes, each beautifully presented, and many speeches and toasts given to celebrate this international gathering. Appreciation for the warm welcome was expressed by Mr Ian Grant on behalf of the Chefoo School Alumni Association. It was a lovely event.
