Hong Kong Disneyland

In contrast to the noise and bustle of downtown Hong Kong, it is possible to take a ride on the MRT to the Disneyland Resort and enjoy a beautiful afternoon in a quiet enviornment.

05MIMGP2496c46_res300wbThis beautiful gem of good value is approached by taking the MRT (subway system) to the Sunny Bay station on Lantou Island (in the direction of the airport), then boarding the fun-filled Disneyland coaches to the Disneyland terminal.

10IMGP1853rsh_res300wbThe Disneyland Resort is NOT the theme park, but rather the well-landscaped area that surrounds Hong Kong Disneyland. There is no admission charge to the Resort, but if you have kids along, you will not want to miss that option, of course.

37MIMGP2503c46_res300wbI was the guest of Hong Kong people who knew the area well. After enjoying a leisurely walk through the pathways, and encountering most of the popular Disney characters enroute, we arrived at the Disneyland Hotel in time for lunch. Ahh… there were surprises on the menu, as well!!

The hotel, itself, is beautiful and most of the seating in the dining room provides a great view of the waterfront and a classic maze constructed of hedge rows.

40IMGP1920rsh_res300wbWe were visiting the resort in late February; not the prime time of year for enjoying gardens, but it was still a delightful experience. With walkways, gardens, a pier with a lighthouse, some people attempting to fish, and even a bridal couple on a photo shoot, I shot a lot of photos.

I’ve prepared about sixty of them in these albums and if you choose to step through the sequence of one of these albums you may find it a kind of virtual tour of the resort area.

For viewers outside of China, my Picasa album may be a best choice.

For my friends in China, you might like to choose the Windows Live album.

Meanwhile, the HaoKanBu album is a kind of experiment at the moment, to see if should be used as a replacement for my Windows Live albums in the future. To view it with larger-size photos, however, you do need to register to get your own ID. If viewers wish to express their opinions on which I should use in the future, I will be pleased. For instance, I have thought of adding Chinese text to the HaoKanBu album.

What do you think? I’ll be pleased to hear from you.
