Travelling the Old Silk Road in Gansu

As a Canadian traveller in China, one of my keen interests is to explore historic connections between East and West. One of my fascinations is the old Silk Road caravan route linking the old capital city of Xian with India, Persia and Europe.

I invite readers to view one of my first attempts to tell a story online. Originally this blog appeared on the Government of Hunan 3Us English website. For the attached files, I used a system called Show Story, developed by staff at Hunan University (a partner university to my home university in Canada). My story here is of my travels on the famous Route 312 (now twinned with Expressway G30) in Gansu Province between Zhangye and the capital city of Lanzhou:
